University, Nicosia
Savvas Christodoulides [b.1961, Pafos,
Cyprus] lives and works in Nicosia.
He studied at the National School of Fine
Arts of Toulouse [1981-86] and at the University of
Provence from where he received his PhD [2000-2006] from
the faculty of Arts
et Lettres.
He has participated in numerous
exhibitions, including the Venice Biennial [1996], the
Athens Biennial [2009] and the Biennial of Sao Paulo
[2012]. His latest solo exhibition took place at Eins
Gallery (Limassol) in March 2021.
He has published papers on art. In 2016
he edited the volume Andreas
Chrysochos – Texts on Art and in 2016 the volume Dear
koumparos – 12 letters of Christoforos Savva to Costas
Economou. Recently (March 2021) he published the
volume Considering
colors through Michalis Pasiardis poetry.
In January 2017 he curated the
exhibition Landscapes
– Selection of the State Gallery at Evagoras
Lanitis Center in Limassol and in April 2017 the
exhibition Rooms
to contemplate at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural
Foundation in Nicosia. In May 2019 he curated the
exhibition Pentadaktylos
/ Contemporaries at A. G. Leventis Gallery in
Nicosia.
He teaches art and theory of art and
architecture at the School of Architecture / Frederick
University, Nicosia, Cyprus.
