RESULTS
The following lots were sold at the prices stated.
Prices include the Buyer’s Premium and VAT on buyer’s premium.

“Psatharis Auction House” held its 7^th Auction, with great success, at the HILTON Hotel, Nicosia, on the 19^th of May 2010.

Out of the 115 works that were auctioned, 71 were sold, 62%. The revenue (auction price, auctioneer’s commission and VAT on the commission) amounts to €263.109, percentage by value 80%.

Out of the 64 Cypriot works, 47 were sold, 72%, and, out of the 46 Greek artists’ works, 22 were sold, 48%. The works with the highest auction price were the following:

In first place was the work of Adamantios Diamantis “Tragedy” that realised (auction price, commission, plus VAT on the commission) €19.346; in second place was the work of Telemachos Kanthos “White Houses” (Kaimakli) €17.000 and in third place was the wood sculpture by Costas Karachaliou “Achaean Armies” €16.415; Michalis Manousakis’ “Motherhood” €15.825, Christos Christou “The two windows” €14.070, Demetris Mytaras “Woman” €8.207, two works by Andreas Charalambides “Flute players with flower  garlands” and “Byzantion” €8.207 and €7.035 respectively; of the two watercolours by Ioannis Kissonergis “Landscape” and “On the Kyrenia coasts”, the first went for €7.035 and the second for €6,448.

Out of the works sold, 39 sold at the starting price, 54% and 32 were sold higher than the starting price. The work of A. Fasianos “Profile of a youth”, after a record 14 bids, was sold from €600 to €1.758, E. Nicodemou’s “Cube”, with an equal number of bids, from €1.500 reached €4.455, Charilaou Dikeou’s “At the Omodos coffee shop”, with 12 bids, also realised €4.455, of the two works by A. Karayian, “Cyclist” and “Sailors”, the first, starting at €2.000, reached €5.159 and the second, from €1.800, went for €3.048. Interest was shown in the 19 lithographs by G. Pol Georgiou, which, with 10 bids from €3.000 reached €7.035 – St. Votsis, untitled, from €1.500 realised €3.048; Stass “Oscar for Peace”, from €1.500, with 8 bids, realised €2.345. T. Kanthos’ etching “December of ‘63” from €950 with 9 bids reached €1.993. All 3 works by Thalia Flora Karavia were sold, “Flowers in a vase” from €2.500, with 2 bids, reached €3.165. Interest was also shown in a watercolour by the English painter David Roberts, “Kithira”, which, from €1.450 realised €2.345. Works by  S. Skarvelli, Varlamou, Chiou, Sperantza, Stathopoulou, C. Georgiou, A. Keramida, Yerou, M. Tourou, G. Kotsoni, Fotou and Xanthou Hadjisoteriou, A. Efstathiou, B. Ioannides, John Corbidge, G. Skotinos, Raymon Trias, K. Kashialos, B. Kyrkou, Thraki Rossidou-Jones and others were also sold.
